We are all deeply saddened by the news of the death of Queen Elizabeth II, but also so immensely proud that for seventy years she served as our Royal Patron.
Queen Elizabeth was a dedicated supporter of nursing and she championed the profession for decades, highlighting the work carried out by nurses and demonstrating a clear interest in issues facing the workforce.
Many RCN members will remember meeting her as she spent time with nursing staff both in the UK and overseas.

I have never learned how strong woman she is until I came to this country in 2001. She dealt with problems within her reign with kindness but being firmed. A real Queen in every way.
Wonderful person will be so sadly missed by so many people , go be with your prince m'am .
