We are all deeply saddened by the news of the death of Queen Elizabeth II, but also so immensely proud that for seventy years she served as our Royal Patron.
Queen Elizabeth was a dedicated supporter of nursing and she championed the profession for decades, highlighting the work carried out by nurses and demonstrating a clear interest in issues facing the workforce.
Many RCN members will remember meeting her as she spent time with nursing staff both in the UK and overseas.
Please share your message of condolence or your memories with us today.

I am not British, I am from NZ. To me the Queen has personified life in servitude with dignity and grace. I thank her for her service and her recognition of our NHS services who deem to do the same.
