We are all deeply saddened by the news of the death of Queen Elizabeth II, but also so immensely proud that for seventy years she served as our Royal Patron.

Queen Elizabeth was a dedicated supporter of nursing and she championed the profession for decades, highlighting the work carried out by nurses and demonstrating a clear interest in issues facing the workforce.

Many RCN members will remember meeting her as she spent time with nursing staff both in the UK and overseas.

Please share your message of condolence or your memories with us today.

How sad it is to lose our Wonderful Queen. Many of us would appreciate how much more frail she was looking, and realise that she just kept going to meet the Prime Minister!
