We are all deeply saddened by the news of the death of Queen Elizabeth II, but also so immensely proud that for seventy years she served as our Royal Patron.
Queen Elizabeth was a dedicated supporter of nursing and she championed the profession for decades, highlighting the work carried out by nurses and demonstrating a clear interest in issues facing the workforce.
Many RCN members will remember meeting her as she spent time with nursing staff both in the UK and overseas.

The news of the Queen’s passing on was a shock to me, considering that fact that I was on a long day shift,I couldn’t hold back my tears. She will be remembered for her great deeds rest on mama.
